Sustainability
Sustainable business, easier said than done.
Besides the fact that our building system is already by nature a very sustainable solution compared to hot-rolled steel structures or concrete structures, we try to keep our carbon footprint as small as possible.

Sustainability and our product
Our system steel structures are inherently a sustainable alternative to a traditional steel structure or concrete floor because:
- Much less energy is used in production; the largest part is cold-rolled;
- There is a large second-hand market for our structure type. Reuse and therefore circular application really takes place and it even brings a financial benefit in the form of residual value;
- The standard perforation pattern makes it easy to move or adapt to a new situation (reusable = circular);
- Thanks to rolling from roll, there is no residual material, so little waste;
- It is easier to assemble, so no heavy equipment is required;
- It can be transported very efficiently thanks to its low weight (no air transport);
- Our system steel structures are designed in such a way that the material is used extremely efficiently. A structure can carry an average of 8 to 10 times its own weight in variable loads!
Green steel program
Since 2024, we can offer projects in which we produce the cold-formed beams made of thin-walled strip steel from ‘Green Steel’. This is material produced in a European factory for which certificates are issued for the minimum use of 75% recycled (scrap) material and in which the flame furnace is 100% powered by renewable energy. If you would like to know more about this, we will be happy to help you.
What does Anera do?
Besides the fact that our product has the potential to be sustainable and there is also hard work being done to make the steel market more sustainable, we as Anera also think it is important to do our bit. One way we do this is by investing in making our own plant more sustainable and investing in greening the planet. We do this not only by donating to a charity like JustDigIt. Anera is also proud owner of a private forest area located in Baarle-Nassau, the Netherlands. Here we aim to maintain and protect a Dutch forest but also to grow the forest area.
